Curve Ball and 2010

By Claudette on Jan 10, 2010 | In Claudette - Reaching Out | Send feedback »

Looking back to  the end of 2008  through 2009 I have to say it was a great time of testing, and overcoming many obstacles, sometimes it felt like  I was receiving one curve ball after another, and I could not swing the bat fast enough, to hit it out of the ball park. My husband and I suffered loss Financially leading to Bankruptcy, during the great financial shaking, that was taking place Globally, we were having to move in with my parents along with our two children, with both of my parents facing changeling health issues, my Father with Dementia, and my mother preparing for Hip Replacement Surgery, a house divided spiritually, yet we were all in need of each others help.  HUH!

During the winter in 2009,  the Lord had us going to a very small revival service; during this time many things were spoken to us mostly confirmation of things already spoken, yet it was a time in 2009 that will remain unforgettable to my husabnd and I. After the services we had to retreat back to prison, having to go back to the hold-over, still “Prisoners of Hope”, longing for our dreams to be fulfilled, and a home that we could call our own.

I think to Paul and Silas here were two men walking along being obedient to the Lord, when suddenly there getting beat, flogged, and thrown into prison. Does not sound like a great day, it was an unexpected curve ball.

After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose. ACTS 16 24-26

Sometimes we are walking along, and here it comes you guessed it, the curve ball, However,  Paul and Silas as “Prisoners of Hope” did not stop focusing on Him, the Lord of Glory, they worshiped Him in all his majesty,  focusing on Him.  I am sure Paul and Silas did not know all that was happening, because there are times where we are not going to know, or understand it all, know matter how educated or uneducated we are in the word of God.

In this account of Paul and Silas we know this, the shackles will fall off, and the door to the prison will unlock. I live in the upper level of the house, and I look out the window in the evening worshiping, and waiting for the Angle of the Lord, like Paul and Silas staying focused.

P.S.

The year 2009 was the “Dark Night of the Soul.”  through all the chaos, the Lord has been directing all along, sometimes it's hard to see, like a bad snow storm where the warnings are telling you that visibility is zero. However, we know the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.   I am still remaining focused.

It was not to long before writing this I heard the words restore Health restore Finances, I do believe 2010 is that year of Restoring , and releasing the “Prisoners of Hope". Can you Hear it !!!” Do you see it!!!  There it goes!!! the curve ball is flying out of the ball park.
