He Will Change It

He will Change It
Have you ever looked up your name to see what it means?
I remember when I looked up my first name, I didn’t like what it meant; (Claudette) “Lame”.
I was diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, a form of Muscular Dystrophy (that hinders the hands and feet). Even though I had the disease at birth, the signs of the disease did not fully show until I was thirty, it felt like it hit me in an overnight way, and all what I was facing at the time seem to go along with my name, Claudette. “Lame disabled in the feet”.
I had previously read a question on one of the search engines, that asked. Does your name shape your destiny? It made me not just think of my name, but also Jacob’s name meaning “Supplanter” I don’t find that name to be any different from mine, they both signal the negative, however, I know that a negative also has a positive.
The positive is that the Lord is into name changes. Jacob wrestled all night long, but came out changed. I wonder if Jacob in all his wrestling asked to have his name changed, after all Jacob did ask God to bless him, and he was not going to let go until God did. Maybe Jacob should have just asked, but he was desperate see he had a destiny somewhere deep inside, Jacob knew only God could change his name, and change his destiny.
What if we put a little more effort into our walk with God, just think about what he might change (Point to ponder). Does your name shape your destiny? I would say only God knows.
Take a look at Gideon scared and destitute, and he was called a mighty warrior. Jacob the “Supplanter” was called Israel. The Lord is into changing you from the inside out to shape your destiny.
· The Lord will change your name to mighty warrior despite your circumstances.
· The Lord will change your name too mighty over comer despite the diagnoses.
With the Lord- “Nothing is Impossible” again I say nothing is impossible for the Lord.
Blessings,
Claudette Moss
