I Need a Delivery
This morning I awoke thinking about some needs I have. I was thinking back to what had happened to my family on January 1, 2011. My family and I were on our way back from seeing the girls grandmother, when my daughter told me that there was a piece of metal hanging off the car not thinking much about it, because the car is rusty, we got in the car, and started down the road, when all of a sudden we heard something clinking against the under bottom of the car, we then heard something fly off, Chris (my husband) pulled over to look at what it was, and part of the bottom of our car broke off from the rust(a running board). Looking at one another, we said ?What can we do?? We're raising two awesome kids, Chris is in College full time, we're living and caring for my parents full time, who eventually will need to be in a care facility, and I'm working little by little on the ministry, so there is no means to replace the car.
This past two years has been a prison hold for us, Prisoners of Hope.
The next day we decided to look for the piece of metal to get it off the road, we were not sure where it exactly flew off, as we drove by looking we started to laugh it could not have ended up in a more funnier spot, it was in a snow bank next to one of the entrance ways- Can you guess? The Graveyard! The Lord does have a great sense of humor. Chris and I just laughed there was nothing else we could do, we left it there in the snow bank I guess, that?s the resting spot until spring.
I need a delivery! I am sure many reading this can relate, my family needs a new vehicle that is reliable, and we long for our own home again. I remember a long time ago in a evening night class at church a couple that was present was conveying to us how they could not ask for a car or a home, they made it sound like it was dirty, by the end of the class, I started feeling bad about asking for anything.
However, I don?t feel bad at all now, because the word says you have not because you do not ask, and I?ll stand on the word, after all when you get to the end of the rope, that is all you have left is the word, well let me tell you I am at the end of the rope and I am standing on the word.
You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. James 4:2
I think pride comes before a fall even the area of our needs being met, because we are to prideful to ask, maybe that couple never had to face those kinds of needs, thank God. However, for those that do face those kinds of needs in their life, asking is what we are instructed to do in the word of God.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Mat 7:7-11
I am in need of a delivery, and I am asking for those needs to be met in my family?s life.
Speedy Delivery,
