What's for Supper

What’s for Supper?
As I was rinsing the lettuce and getting things ready to prep for dinner this evening, it dawned on me “I had been feeding my enemy”?
To set the stage, I have been the main cook in the house for two years, I take care of my parents full time and I have had family coming up and visiting off and on, and one of the visitors said some really superfluous words to my face about me and my family, put it to you straight they were words that I think only come from h--- itself, I knew whatever I was doing the enemy did not like it.
Nonetheless, through it all the enemy still asked “What’s for Dinner”? I knew the bible says pray for your enemies, but feed them where does it say that in the bible? Well guess what it’s in there.
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the LORD will reward you. Proverbs 25:21-22
Some of those Kingdom Principles we would like to ignore, but if we don’t ignore them and we do what the bible says, Proverbs tell us the Lord will reward. After all, what you’re going through could be a test to see if you will abide in that one Kingdom Principle “feed your enemy” you might be surprised at your reward for obeying that one Kingdom Principle, and that test could be your train ride right out of where your hold over has been.
The bible says that God will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies.
| You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalm 23:5
Look honestly, you don’t know how big the table is going to be that God sets, you don’t know what is going to be on the table that God sets, but things are set, and I do know this, your enemy will notice your reward, for nothing is too hard for God. I don’t know when my reward is coming; or when yours is, but I know that if the Lord promised it, it’s coming. Let me tell you what I mean by all this.
My mother is originally from France, and my Mom comes from a big family and one of my Mom’s sisters lives in America, and visits her brothers and sisters in France yearly. This year my Aunt came and shared some beautiful pictures of France with us, and what I liked most about the pictures was how they set the dinner tables, they have a set standard in setting the table in France. I enjoyed looking at the different dinner table settings, they were not highly fancy I would call it simple elegance. My Aunt said to me “you want to know how to set a table you come to my house I will show you how to set a table”. When I was little I remember the table at my Aunts looked very nice, but I did not pay attention I was a child.
I know that when you set up anything it must be put in its rightful place I think about a Chess board the pieces all have a certain place; you cannot play the game without it being set right. It’s the same for a Dinner table, you have the plate, fork, knife, cups or glass ware, and they have a certain place on the table, the plate is not in the middle of the table, and the fork is not in the glass, if a table was set this way, it would certainly be out of place.
The Lord likes to set things up, The Lord likes things to be set in its proper place, and when He sets you up in the right place people will take notice just like I took notice of the lovely dinner table settings. The Lord is setting it all up, the people are in there proper place and the Lord has it set for his Glory. Yes, it is all set up for his Glory that’s why He prepares the table, He knows the right setting for it to all come together, and after it has all been set, those who see it will walk away knowing the reward was all set by the hand of God. Give God the Glory!
Get ready, the table is set Claudette |
