Faith And Hope
By Claudette on Dec 5, 2008 | In Claudette - Reaching Out
When reading Headline News, I came across an article about two conjoined twin little girls named Hope and Faith.
The article read, ?Little Faith was keeping little Hope alive.? What a heart felt message we find in - Faith was keeping Hope alive!
In this life, we need Faith to keep Hope alive, no matter what we are facing.
Some of us hope for the right door to open, providing us with great opportunities, some of us hope for our health to improve, anxious to hear the word - remission, and some are hoping to overcome mountains of debt, finally being able to live a better way of life.
Each of us can sit and list our Hopes, but without Faith to sustain us, enabling us to believe in Hope, Hope will die.
The Bible speaks allot about Faith and Hope. The Word of God teaches us that Hope is in Him, and with the measure of Faith He has given each one of us, we keep Hope alive.
Psalm 38 : 15 NASB:
For I hope in You, O LORD;
You will answer, O Lord my God.
Proverbs 23 : 18 NASB:
Surely there is a future,
And your hope will not be cut off.
Jeremiah 29 : 11 NASB:
For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
During uncertain times we can become prisoners of Hope, when Hope keeps us longer than we want it to. It is in this waiting that we find patience woven into Hope.
Romans 8 : 25 NASB:
But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.
Oh...! The time we wait, wondering how much longer, before finally seeing all that we have hoped for.
Zechariah 9 : 12 NIV:
Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope;
even now, I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
The Scriptures tell us that Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13 : 12), but without Faith to hold on to, I believe Hope dies.
Romans 8 : 24 New American Standard:
For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?
We need Faith to sustain Hope!
Hebrews 11 : 1 NASB:
The Triumphs of Faith
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
1 Peter 1 : 21 NIV:
Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
May your Hope and Faith be steadfast in the Lord, when facing circumstances in this life, for if you have a little Faith, along with a little Hope, the Lord will see you through.
2 Corinthians 4 NIV:
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
Pray this Prayer:
Lord, I hold within me a little bit of Faith and a Little bit of Hope, please I pray, help me, strengthen me, and increase my measure of Faith and Hope, for I wait patiently for You.
Please do not delay, come to me and help me. I have many troubles, but Your word declares that You will deliver me from them all. I believe by Faith, that you are my deliverer and possessor, and my Hope Lord is in you.
Blessings,
Claudette Moss
