But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. Joshua 2:4
In the bible, Joshua sent two spies and the two spies reached Rahab’s place and the king of Jericho wanted those two spies, but Rahab the prostitute had some wisdom in her she was sneaky. Rahab sneaked the two spies in, and had hidden them.
Rahab and the Spies
Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.
The king of Jericho was told, “Look, some of the Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.” So the king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.”
But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.” (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.) So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as the pursuers had gone out, the gate was shut.
Have you ever been in a sticky situation, a situation that you knew you needed help in? And if that help did not come quickly you were going to sink or swim (metaphorically speaking). Let me tell you in those uncertain times God still has a plan for you.
The Lord can bring a Rahab into your life that will sneak you in. Maybe you’re not fully qualified for the position or have in depth experience, but suddenly you were snuck in, and you find out that the one that would have evaluated you would not have approved you, because they were not ethnically diverse.
There are enemy strongholds in the marketplace and the churchs BUT GOD is an awesome game changer; praise the Lord! He will use a Rahab( a wise person) to send you in to bring down those strongholds in our workplace, in our country, and in our families.
God will sneak you in, to save those that need saving. Rahab and her whole family were spared, and so will your family be spared.
All summed up.... sometimes your only being snuck in, to sneak someone out. Its a resuce mission.
I can testify to God having a way of sneaking you in to a situation, not only to help you, but ultimately to help others too. It is meant to break strongholds and set captives free, so they too can enter their promise land, their destiny.
The song that comes to mind is: I went to the enemies’ camp and I took back what he stole from me, I took back what he stole from me.
The Lord is rescuing!
Thank you Jesus, without you as our Shepherd we would be wondering fools.
Thank you Lord, for sneaking us in for us to receive our promise while rescuing others in the process
