In this post I speak of a development that involves all who believe in Jesus.
My hope is that all will stand up, taking notice of what is happening in the world today, with their hearts open and reaching out to Jesus. We must check ourselves by checking our relationship with Christ. We need to evaluate our desires, our motives, our direction, leaving nothing unturned before the Lord. We must open ourselves up and let the Holy Spirit make any changes He sees fit, this will edify and unify.
The phrase "United we stand, Divided we fall" has been used in many kinds of compositions from mottos to songs, but I want to focus on Patrick Henry's use of it in March 1799, when denouncing the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, because he feared for the division of states in the union.
Patrick Henry declaimed the resolutions saying, “Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs.”i - See EndNote at the bottom.
trick Henry's declaimer also rings a loud bell in the Body of Christ today, since many, if not all churches are divided in some way because of doctrine, beliefs, organization, or lack of fellowship with each other.
Church division could not have been spoken about more clearly than when Patrick Henry said, “Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs.” It is that union for which Jesus Christ died on the Cross, and yet, we have destroyed that very union upon which our existence hangs.
I would like to focus on one verse in particular:
Ephesians 5 : 27 KJV:
27 That he (Jesus – my note.) might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
There are two ideas that we can deduce from this one verse, and they are:
1) When Jesus died on the Cross, He established the Global Church to always be One Global Body unified, with Him as the head, OR
2) The Church, when Christ returns, will be One Global Church Body unified, with Him as the head.
Either way, the Church, when Jesus returns, will be quit different than what we see today.
Today, the Church is in pieces, all going about their own ways and beliefs, no longer adhering to one sound doctrine taught by the Bible, instead we have created denominations and governmental structures founded on whatever we want to believe and practice, and none of them get along very well.
The Church was supposed to be One Body as written in Ephesians 4 : 4-6 NIV, not many bodies apart from each other.
Ephesians 4 : 4-6 NIV:
4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
So...what ever happened to the One Global Church Jesus talked about? Well, this is starting to be answered.
The Lord Jesus shared with me that He is going to raise up His people, who are true to Him, from the churches (who are now in many pieces), and they will be the Church spoken of in the scriptures.
The Lord did not give me all the implications of this, but I do know that when it is finished, the Church will be ready.
Saints! We are heading into a time like no other, and Jesus loves His people too much to let them keep going the way they are going. The Church needs reform before the final End Time Harvest and it is on the way.
I can only urge you to give yourselves fully to Jesus and live righteous lives entirely. He is waiting for you.
Let's join together as one Church under Christ and become a “United we stand” Church, not a “Divided we stand” one.
Blessings,
Christopher Moss
